Global Burden of Disease Web Tool

The Washington Post reported on a new web-tool developed call the “Global Burden of Disease.”   Though it highlights a “bigger picture” than what we would expect clinically.  I thought it would be interesting to share—just in case any of us go to other countries, or have a client from another country.  

The tool has interactive graphics that allow you to see charts and graphs of diseases in different countries.  It also allows you to compare nations to its geographic, economic, or cultural neighbors.

The GBD Insight tool, gives quick information on major causes of death, leading causes of years of life lost (YLL), and leading causes of years lived with disability (YLDs).

There is also a tool that allows you to put in diseases and risk factors and see how it has changed since 1990.

Whether you drink milk for the protein, the nutrients, the flavor, or just like to switch it up, there are pros and cons to every kind. It gets a bad rap, but what whole milk has going for it, is that it’s in its proper nutritional form.
