The thyroid gland is a critical organ that helps with regulation of vital body functions. The thyroid gland is located a little ways below one's adam's apple and it regulates: breathing, heart rate, central and peripheral nervous systems, body weight, muscle strength, menstrual cycles, etc. Though it is only the size of a 2-inch shaped butterfly, it nearly affects every organ in the body and any abnormalities of the thyroid, can severely affect multiple bodily processes. The most common thyroid  condition is hypothyroidism followed by hyperthyroidism (also known as Graves Disease) . Iodine is the vital nutrient that is essential for thyroid function. Deficiencies of iodine may cause an inflammation of autoimmune antibodies that can further complicated an already troubled thyroid.
Hyperthyroidism is well known to go hand in hand with bone loss due to the common vitamin D deficiency found in individuals with hyperthyroidism. It is important to note that the highest concentration of selenium is found in the thyroid gland because it is a necessary component of enzymatic function. For food and medical interaction, its critical to know that certain supplements like calcium can interfere with absorption of thyroid medication. Coffee and supplementation of fiber can also lower the absorption of thyroid medication. Drug nutrient interactions are critical for individuals with thyroid disease and should always consult with a dietitian before self prescribing supplementations.

    Thanks for posting it, BTW NY Pilates Exercises are the best treatment for a Thyroid disease.
