Halloween Movie Menu Ideas

Fall is one of the most popular seasons, and there’s a good reason for it. Apart from the cozy weather and the turkey and stuffing, fall offers an ever-popular holiday - Halloween! You probably have plenty of favorite spooky traditions to celebrate, and staying in to watch classic movies might be on that list.

It goes without saying that the ideal movie night involves the perfect snack. Popcorn and candy are quick fixes that can do the trick, but why not go for the ultimate treat this season and try a themed dish? Though it may take a little more time and effort, creating a themed recipe can make your movie night extra festive and add plenty of good nutrition to your diet. Here are three menu ideas for three popular Halloween films:

1.) It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown

Pumpkin Chili

It’s the great pumpkin chili, Charlie Brown! This dish is packed full of hearty ingredients like ground turkey, black beans, and bell peppers. With the addition of pumpkin puree and a delicious blend of herbs, this recipe offers plenty of fall-favorite flavors.

2.) Halloweentown

Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies

Maybe you can’t use your magic powers to summon chocolate chip cookies like the characters of Halloweentown, but you can definitely create some with this recipe. All of your favorite cookie flavors are met with dark chocolate chunks for a sweet, rich taste.

3.) Coraline

Mighty Mango Milkshake

The next time you watch Coraline, don’t just dream about that tasty-looking mango milkshake - try it! With fresh mangoes, creamy coconut milk, and honey, you can’t go wrong with this bold beverage. Plus, as a rich source of antioxidants and fiber, the mangoes in this milkshake offer a surprising amount of health benefits!

Happy Halloween and enjoy!

  1. This is such a creative idea to bring these fictional snacks to life! I have never though about putting pumpkin in my chili, so I am definitely going to try out the pumpkin chili this fall, except I may swap out the turkey for sweet potatoes to make it vegetarian!

  2. RP- I know Halloween has passed at this point, but I would definitely like to try these anyway! I love a good chili and chocolate chip cookies anytime of year, but it definitely feels even better on a cold day. I also love a good mango milkshake! This is definitely a bright flavor that sticks out from other common Fall and Winter flavors.
