Healthy Routines While Working Remotely
Many people are still quarantined at home and attempting to adapt to new routines of virtual school,
working remotely, staying physically active, and keeping daily routines pre-COVID.
One of the many obstacles people are facing is keeping a normal eating schedule.
I want to provide some tips that can help with building healthy habits and adapting to being home.
Breakfast is still the most important meal of the day
It’s tempting to just roll right into work since there is no daily commute, but it’s really important to keep that pre-COVID routine that may include a shower, workout, walking the dog, and most importantly, a nourishing breakfast. Breakfast helps with concentration and jump starts your metabolism.
Hydrate. Hydrate. Hydrate
Water is crucial for our bodies to help organs run efficiently and help with nutrient transportation.
Symptoms of dehydration can lead to fatigue, headaches, and weakness.
Put down the sugary beverages and make water a priority.
Snacks are good! Snacks are great!
Not everyone is a 3-meals-a-day person. Some people need to graze throughout the day.
Having pre-portioned snacks can help with cravings.
Home-cooked vs. Take-out
Having more time at home means more time for cooking: it’s an awesome time
to try new recipes or reinvent old recipes. Aim to include a vegetable at every meal.
These vegetables can be canned, fresh, or frozen.
Night Time
Maintaining structure during the pandemic has been tough for many, as
Netflix binges have taken priority over sleep. An average adult needs
7-8 hours per night: less sleep leads to increased cravings.

I feel that your post is extremely relatable. I personally struggled with finding a solid routine once the pandemic started. Everything was shifted in a way that we were not prepared. It took awhile, but once I got back into my original daily habits, it truly made a positive difference.
