Spices and herbs are not only a good way to flavor your food, but they can also be beneficial to your health! They can be used to reduce sodium and fat in your cooking and can be a good source of antioxidants. Here are 5 spices to incorporate into your diet and how to use them.


Turmeric 

Turmeric can be used to fight inflammation and reduce pain and swelling in some individuals. Turmeric gives curry powder its yellow color and has a sharp and woodsy flavor.

Cinnamon

Ginger

Ginger has been found to relieve upset stomach, nausea, and diarrhea. Ginger also can assist with pain management because of its anti-inflammatory properties.

Cumin

Cumin has immunity effects, can assist with digestion, and used to treat cancer and insomnia. It has a nutty and earthy flavor and is used in Indian and Latim American dishes.
