Jack-O-Lantern Energy Bites

 Jack-O-Lantern Energy Bites

Protein consumption is a hot topic among the population of the United States. Many Americans don't know the required amount of protein recommended. Most Americans eat about twice the amount of the recommended amount of protein that's suggested. Having too much protein can lead to heart disease or cause damage to your kidney leading to kidney stones.

Protein requirements are difficult for everyone. It is suggested to have 20-30% of your total calories coming from protein. Instead of worring about that, you can try to consume around 50-75 grams of protein per day. If you think you may not be getting enough protein, I have a way to get it in!

Introducing Jack-O-Lantern Energy Bites! What youll need is:

  • 3/4 cup of smooth peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup of pure pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup of honey
  • 3/4 cup of oats
  • 1/2 tsp. of ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp. of mini chocolate chips
  • 12 small pretzel sticks
The instructions for this dish are to combine peanut butter, pumpkin puree, honey, oats, cinnamon, and mix it all together. Shape the mixture into bite sized balls and stick them with a pretzel. After doing this let them cool for at least for 30 minutes and clean up. Jack-O-Lantern enrgy bites are a great way to have a snack and replenish throughout the day!
